At CKU, individual and group psychotherapy is available online and in-person.
It can be the main form of treatment or combined with group therapy:
→ GROUP PSYCHOTHERAPY FOR ADDICTIONS
Every person has their own history, needs, resources and limitations. Therefore, at the centre, we are guided by an individual approach to the client and this is how we create a plan of psychological help.
Individual psychotherapy is a proposal for people who, after initial
individual consultations - 3-4 meetings - have an internal readiness to work on themselves and the need for personal development.
The terms of cooperation are set individually.
Sessions last 50 minutes and take place on fixed dates.
“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.”
Carl Jung
In individual therapy, the client and everything that concerns their life are important – feelings, thoughts, attitudes towards themselves and others.
Individual psychotherapy creates a space in which the client receives the full focus of the psychotherapist, while establishing a deeper relationship with them.
Individual psychotherapy is recommended for people struggling with:
-
anxiety
-
depression
-
personality and mood disorders
-
addiction
-
living in a relationship with an addicted person
-
experienced trauma,
-
problems in relationships,
-
difficulties at work or school,
-
illness or loss,
-
patterns of destructive ways of thinking,
-
patterns of dysfunctional behaviours and emotional reactions taken from the family home
-
difficulties related to functioning in social life
Psychotherapy is, by definition, a longer process than a few meetings, which is why the necessary conditions for effective psychotherapy (especially long-term therapy) are:
1. Regularity of therapy sessions, and therefore the associated stability, predictability, structure, and commitment. These are issues that significantly affect the client's sense of security and support the therapeutic process. If there are frequent absences during this process, the therapeutic process is disrupted. Participation in regular therapy sessions requires the client to take responsibility for their therapeutic process.
2. Therapeutic relationship. In the therapeutic process, a bond called a therapeutic relationship is established between the psychotherapist and the client, which is also the subject of attention and an important healing factor in individual psychotherapy.
The therapist is unable to help a person who is not involved in their treatment process.
Therefore, if you decide to regularly cooperate in therapy, it is worth considering first whether there is currently time and emotional space for this in your life.
